Metković

Located in the valley of the Neretva river, facing the sea, Metković provides excellent opportunities for enjoyment. Traditionally focused on agriculture because of the fertile delta famous for its mandarin plantations and other fruits and vegetables, it is a natural phenomenon and there you can enjoy boat rides (Neretva safari) and well-known local specialties (eel and frog). In the suburban settlement of Vid the first museum in situ was opened - Narona museum, an ancient city that sank in the wetlands. The town is very well known for its ornithological collection, one of the largest in Europe, and the traditionally held lađa marathon that is held in August on the Neretva.
